Seeing is Believing

I have a lot of accessories. This "problem" (my husband's word, not mine) started long before I started as a Stylist for Stella & Dot, but over the past 2 and a half years my collection has greatly expanded. Which means I keep outgrowing my storage space.

Over the past few months I was storing my jewelry in multiple places. I had my Stella & Dot accessories in one place, my fine jewelry in another place, all other fashion jewelry in yet another area, and my retired Stella & Dot pieces in a different spot all together. I felt so scattered having different places for everything and wasn't wearing half of my inventory due to it not being organized.

So, what's a girl to do when she's unorganized and needs inspiration? First, Pinterest! And second, Ikea.

And here's what I came up with.

After getting inspired from other accessory lovers (and a few Stella & Dot stylists) on Pinterest, I found two separate pieces that I really liked at Ikea. The top part is the Alex storage unit and while I loved it (it fits 3 trays in each drawer--perfect for the life of a stylist that needs to grab and go), I wasn't happy with the height or, rather, lack thereof. Which is why when I saw the bottom piece (the Stolmen) I knew that would be perfect--and give me more storage. Because who doesn't need extra storage?

I love my new set-up and I'm so happy to finally see everything I own. It makes getting ready in the morning (or whenever I change out of my yoga pants) much easier--and more fun!

If you are looking to organize your accessories I have one piece of advice--whatever storage unit you decide on, pick one that you are able to see everything you have with ease. If it's hard to get to or you don't see it, you'll forget about it and never wear it. And what fun is that?
