Review: American Wife
American Wife

The concept of this book is so unique that as soon as I heard about it I knew I wanted to read it. It's a fictional story based on real biographical information about Laura (and, to an extent, George) Bush's life.
First of all, I didn't know SO MUCH about Laura Bush until I started reading this book. I found myself going down google wormholes more than once. Her life has been fascinating--and tragic. So much has happened to her.
I thought this book was beautiful and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I had to remind myself MORE THAN ONCE that it is a FICTIONAL story. But I just couldn't stop picturing Laura Bush and kept thinking that this was her ACTUAL life.
Highly enjoyable, especially given the concept.
