Review: The Young Elites

I read this PURELY because of how much I enjoyed Lu's previous trilogy she wrote, the Legend series. I loved those books so much and was anxious to see what Lu would come up with next. Plus I loved the whole idea of following a main character who is on the edge of darkness and wondering where that will lead--there's just so much potential here.
The things Lu did so great in the Legend trilogy she does here again. She's created an amazing world filled with multidimensional/layered characters. There was action and drama and humor. Of course romance. Devastation. Pretty much everything you want in a book.
The main character's struggle with herself--to believe that people can love her and trust her--is powerful. Her inability to let go of her insecurities is tragic--but certainly makes for a great story. Lu is creating a wonderful anithero in Adelina.
Very intrigued on where this series is headed. How far into the darkness will Adelina go? I can't wait to find out.
Since I referenced it, you can find my Legend review here.

Curious about how I rate books? Read about my scale here. Warning: it's super scientific.
